Is Weedcraft Inc contractually obligated to launch on 420?
If anyone was going to rep a marijuana tycoon game, it was bound to be Devolver Digital. The publisher is working with Oh… Sir! The Insult Simulator developer Vile Monarch on Weedcraft Inc, a game about turning a humble weed business into something much more ambitious. It’s out for PC next year.
“Weedcraft Inc explores the business of producing, breeding and selling weed in America, delving deep into the financial, political and cultural aspects of the country’s complex relationship with this troublesome and promising plant,” notes Devolver. So, it isn’t just another interchangeable management game with a different product haphazardly swapped in. I also like the character-centric approach.
“Whether you choose to hobnob with politicians, pay off the po-po, fight for medical marijuana rights or work the legal system, it’s all in the name of the sticky icky and your cutthroat corporate profits.”
We’ll see! I think they have the right idea, and even though my eyes tend to glaze over when people talk about marijuana strains, that aspect could be pretty engaging in this management-sim context.
