You’d think that Resident Evil 5 would have been the more desirable and anticipated franchise if it were being compared to Lost Planet 2, but if the demo performance of both games are anything to go by, it’ll be the less storied series that outshines the famous horror sequel.
“In 24 hours we actually got more downloads of the Lost Planet 2 demo than we did of Resident Evil 5,” Capcom’s Chris Kramer tells VG247. “That kind of astonished all of us.”
Kramer couldn’t divulge exact figures, but considering the fact that Resident Evil 5‘s demo was downloaded 1.8 million times in its first week, one can assume that a LOT of people acquired the Lost Planet 2 one. By all accounts, the LP2 demo was great, but even so it’s quite surprising to see that it did better business than Resident Evil 5. Could bode extremely well for the game when it hits store shelves.
