A real Robin Hood
Makurukis Shrine is one of the many combat training shrines that can be found throughout Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom. Like the other combat training shrines that you may have come across before, Makurukis requires the enemies inside to be defeated with a specific fighting method. In this case, archery is on the menu. We’ll cover everything you need to know about how to defeat the constructs ahead, but first, let’s take a look at how to find Makurukis Shrine.
How to find Makurukis Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom
Makurukis Shrine is located in the Hyrule Ridge region of the map. The closest fast travel point for most players will be Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower. Alternatively, you can head west from Lookout Landing until you get to Mount Rhoam next to Ludio’s Bog. To get to the shrine from Lindor’s Brow Tower, just use the tower and glide southwest past Ludio’s Bog and Mount Rhoam. If you have a few stamina upgrades, it’s possible to make it the entire way in a single glide. Check out the screenshot above for the exact location of the shrine on the map.
How to complete Makurukis Shrine
When you enter Makurukis Shrine, you’ll be told the rules of the game. You need to defeat the constructs while only using a bow and arrow. Moreover, you need to specifically hit the constructs in the head with your shots. Any other part of the enemy won’t do damage. That makes this a little more difficult than your run-of-the-mill combat training.
If you don’t have a bow and some arrows, pick both of them up from the stand to the left of the entrance. Once you have your weaponry, you need to aim your shots accurately to defeat the enemies. There are three constructs to defeat with headshots only. Each one only requires two shots to the head, so they aren’t that hard to defeat. The key is to keep moving and take your shots wisely, lest you get overwhelmed by the constructs.
If you’re having difficulty defeating them, use Ascend to get to the top of one of the pillars on either side of the room. From here, you can glide off the top and aim your bow using the slow-motion aiming technique. To do this, simply press “ZR” to aim your bow while gliding. This will make getting the headshots on target much easier. If you’re quick, you should be able to get off at least two shots before landing on the ground. Simply rinse and repeat to defeat all of the enemies.
Before you exit the shrine, make sure to open the reward chest at the exit. This will give you the Strong Construct Bow, which is handy for lower-level players.
That’s it! Makurukis Shrine is complete!
