And bonus games in April!
In the recent past, Xbox Live’s Games with Gold program has had mostly the same cadence every month: a standout title, an indie game, and a bit of filler. March breaks that mold with three superb games from 2013.
March’s Xbox One title is Rayman Legends, which just happened to be my game of the year in 2013. Seriously, it’s amazing. When informed of the selection, Destructoid editor Jordan Devore couldn’t control his outbursts, exclaiming “So dang good!” and “Those games are masterful.”
Legacy console Xbox 360’s titles aren’t slouches either. Crystal Dynamics’ Tomb Raider kicks off the first half of March, and BioShock Infinite holds down the back-end. All three games here are certainly worth downloading and playing.
And, as an added bonus, Microsoft has announced that April will double down on Games with Gold. That means two games on Xbox One, and four on Xbox 360. Microsoft claims that this is to celebrate the program crossing 100 million game downloads across its lifetime. Whatever the reasoning, Xbox Live subscribers will certainly welcome the freebies.
