Community features added
I’m probably too excited about Mario Golf: World Tour for the 3DS, coming this summer. I’m even more excited after this morning’s Nintendo Direct broadcast, which gave us the first details on the game’s multiplayer.
Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata confirmed that World Tour will feature worldwide online multiplayer. You will be able to play in real time against other golfers all over the world. You’ll also be able to upload your scores and go up against other in tourneys.
Nintendo built on the community feature of Mario Kart 7 to let you find other like-minded players and join communities. You’ll be able to set conditions for online matches, too. Iwata gave an example where only Luigis could play.
Of course, local multiplayer is also supported.
I’m looking forward to taking some of you on in some online matches. Who is up for the challenge?
