Still set for September launch
Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima, speaking in the company’s latest financial report, has said that detailed information pertaining to the launch of the Nintendo Switch Online service will be revealed early in May.
“Nintendo Switch Online, a paid subscription service that will expand the online functionality of Nintendo Switch, will begin in September of this year,” stated Kimishima. “The service will provide consumers with a richness of online features that allow them to continuously enjoy Nintendo Switch. More information will be presented on our website in early May.”
Little is known about the features that Switch Online will bring to the table. We do know that it is priced substantially less than similar subscription services offered by PlayStation and Xbox, expected to cost around $20 per year. The service will allow for online play and access to a library of classic games
Hopefully we’ll find out what else your twenty bucks will get you when full details hit early May.
