May’s new big Xbox Game Pass offerings include Red Dead Redemption 2 and Final Fantasy IX

Also, Fractured Minds

We already knew that Red Dead Redemption 2 was coming to Xbox Game Pass: Microsoft sounded the reveille from the highest mountain several weeks back as it knew what a get that was. But now the publisher is ready to pull the curtain back on the entire month of May, and it’s looking pretty good.

While it’s hard to top Red Dead Redemption 2 in the eyes of many, the mad men managed to do it with one of Square’s most beloved Final Fantasy entries: IX. Zidane and crew will once again unite to protect the world in this absolute classic that took a risk going back to a medieval theme after the futuristic motifs of VII and VIII. It’s a shame that the multiplayer element was never ported, but the rest is mostly intact.

We’re also getting Fractured Minds, which is available on Twitch Prime for free this month too and DayZ. On the PC Game Pass side, Endless Legend is joining the service, as well as Final Fantasy IX and Halo Master Chief Collection: Halo 2. You can find the full Xbox Game Pass breakdown below, including the days that each game will drop on the service.

In case you haven’t taken advantage of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks (I don’t blame you, they’re buried), you can get six months of Spotify Premium as a new user this month (details presumably coming at a later time), as well as redeem the previous PSO 2, Sea of Thieves, NBA2K20 and Warframe perks. Since Microsoft doesn’t link them in the article, here’s the landing page.
