Media Molecule gives new LittleBigPlanet release dates, details

Recommended Videos

You’ve already heard about the LittleBigPlanet delay due to references to the Qu’ran on the game’s soundtrack. At the end of last week, Media Molecule addressed the issue, promising release dates and details as soon as possible.

Fresh from Media Molecule’s page this morning is the new release dates. In the U.S., you could see the title on shelves as early as October 27th. Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand will see their copies starting November 3rd. The UK has confirmed a date of no later than November 5th. Finally, Japan’s date of October 30th has not changed.

Media Molecule promises “some great content” on their site in the coming weeks as a way of saying thanks for your patience. I don’t know what it is, but you can bet it will be racially neutral!

If you’re hoping that the beta will be switched back on, give up hope now.

Lots of people have asked us to switch on the beta again and we looked into it at length, but now that the delay to the game is only a week, it just wasn’t technically possible to get new keys out, bring back the servers, and so on. Besides, we’ve working on some cooler  ways of connecting with you lot directly, that can include those who weren’t able to get beta keys.

Aw, you can wait a week for your Qu’ran-free LBP, can’t you?
