Mercury Meltdown Revolution releasing at $19.99 with perfect blob physics

When I heard that Ignition Entertainment was bringing a new installment of the Mercury series to the Wii, I knew that there’d only be one thing that would compel me to want to play: it would have to be free.

Hitting shelves on September 25, Mercury Meltdown Revolution for the Nintendo Wii comes about as close to free as retail will allow — $19.99. The game (which has players guiding mercury blobs through Mouse Trap-like mazes) will support Wii Remote tilt controls, and include over 150 levels. And of course, Nintendo wouldn’t approve any title unless it contained “loads of mini-games that create a great deal of fun for the whole family!”

While the Itagaki’s of the world are obsessing over boob physics, Ignition have another mission in mind.

“With over 2 years of franchise development,” said Ken Grantz, the Ignition’s Director of Product Development, “we’ve really taken the time and perfected the blob physics.”

I for one am relieved that someone is finally taking blob physics seriously. My hat’s off to you, Ignition.
