It seems like everything is jumping on the success free-to-play is bringing these days, and Microsoft’s line of flight simulator titles is the next franchise to test the waters. Out today is Microsoft Flight and, as was promised, it’s entirely free to download right now on the official game website. Now all Microsoft needs to do is have a free-to-play model that is effective, and the trickiest part of that is the pricing of the premium content.
As of right now, if you want to buy a plane you can get them in two models: the plane as a “basic model” with only exterior views for $7.99 or as “deluxe model” with both cockpit and exterior views for $14.99. Also available right now is “Hawaiian Adventure Pack” which lets you fly the entirety of Hawaii and includes new challenges, over 20 new missions and a deluxe plane for $19.99. The pricing seems about right, but maybe that’s because I’m such a huge fan of the simulators. What do you guys think?
