The best thing about Xbox Live is that we get to see all sorts of cool advertising on a service we subscribe to. Microsoft realizes that adverts are the best part of the Xbox experience, and is bringing innovative “NUads” to Kinect users. Hooray!
In serious news, Microsoft has infuriated a vast number of gamers after unveiling its “NUad” service, a way of bringing advertising to Kinect users in a variety of interactive ways. The above video, in which NUads are demonstrated, has caused a significant uproar, especially among those who wish for Microsoft to remember that the Xbox 360 was once about videogames.
I have to say, there’s a pretty damn obnoxious range of ideas being demonstrated in the video. Ideas such as asking your Kinect peripheral to automatically Tweet links to commercials so you can annoy your friends with Coca Cola marketing. Still … nice to see Microsoft working on the stuff that really means a lot to gamers.
