Major League Gaming is growing like crazy. The latest event, the MLG Spring Championship, broke all records, drawing the all-time highest number of viewers for any eSports event. The June 8-10 tourney pulled in 4.7 million unique online viewers and 437,000 peak concurrent viewers. On Sunday alone more than 2.2 million viewers tuned. Compare that to the 20,000-something in-person viewers.
If you add it all up, more than 5.4 million hours of video were consumed over this weekend.
The Spring Championship had players competing for almost $200,000 by playing Soul Calibur V, StarCraft II, League of Legends, Mortal Kombat and others. Were you one of the millions that watched?
