Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is shipping with an Echidna and a courtesy harness.
Just kidding. But it’s easy to confuse fact or fiction when it comes to hardware revolving around the next iteration of the Call of Duty franchise. The special Prestige Edition version of the game ships with working night vision goggles. That’s why we weren’t thrown off guard when Infinity Ward’s community manager Robert Bowling spilled the beans on another (possibly useless) piece of hardware yesterday afternoon: a Modern Warfare 2 controller.
In a tweet, Bowling confirmed that someone is at least exploring a special controller for the game and Infinity Ward is helping them out. Bowling said, “In a design meeting for a #MW2 controller. Need your advice — Concave or convex grips for the Analog sticks? What’s your preference and why?”
We’re glad you asked, Mr. Bowling. We prefer convex grips, but let’s get realistic: nothing beats using two analog-mounted Echidnas. It’s impossible for your thumbs to slip off the little buggers’ rough skin. Plus, the squeak emitted whenever you click down is just so cute.
