The upcoming launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 3 will add plenty of content. A classic Resurgence map, Rebirth Island, is returning, four new weapons are on the way, and so are six brand new multiplayer maps. However, there are also a few other new items that could change the way the game is played. MW3 Season 3 will add new perks, equipment, and a field upgrade.
Modern Warfare 3 Season 3 new perks
Perks in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are disguised as attire. They operate the same way as perks did in all the previous games, but they’ve been turned into shoes, vests, gloves, and gear. For Season 3, players will be able to get their hands on a few brand-new perks, including a vest, boots, and more.
Gunslinger Vest – Available at the launch of Season 3, the Gunslinger Vest is the ‘secondary weapon specialist’ vest. Instead of two primary weapons or a primary and secondary, it allows you to spawn in with two secondary weapons. If you’re using secondary weapons for challenges or just because the current meta is an overpowered pistol or launcher, this is the way to go. Secondary weapons get the following benefits, which do not stack with other perks:
- Refresh stamina on kill
- Improved reload speed
- Reload while sprinting
- Increased weapon swap speed
- Spawn with maximum reserve ammo
Modular Rig Assault Vest – This vest is also available on launch day of Season 3. It allows you to start with two tacticals, two lethals, and a field upgrade. Next, gloves, boots, and gear, are still usable while it’s equipped. Lastly, you’ll start with maximum reserve ammo and gain the ability to resupply lethals and tacticals from dead players.
Compression Carrier Vest – The final new vest will also be usable on launch day. While using it, players will only have one lethal, no tacticals, gloves, boots, and gear. However, you’ll gain immediate health regeneration after a kill or objective capture. Secondly, the Compression Carrier grants the user reduced effects from as grenades.
Reinforced Boots – The only new boots coming in Season 3 will come out at launch as well. They only do one thing: grant immunity to movement reduction effects. These boots could be a game-changer, shifting many players away from Covert Sneakers (silent footsteps). Running around the map unimpeded by stun grenades and other movement-reducers could be significant.
High-Gain Antenna Gear – From the launch of season 3, players can use this new piece of gear to get the following:
- Minimap zoomed out for you and nearby allies
- Enemies remain on radar longer for you and nearby allies if the ally has the CCT Comms Vest perk equipped
- See nearby ally radar pings from Intel Jacker and compass indicators from nearby Signal Jammers
Modern Warfare 3 Season 3 new tactical and field upgrade
Perks aren’t the only thing changing in MW3’s upcoming Season 3 content update. We’re also getting a brand new tactical slot item along with a field upgrade. However, both of these items are coming in the mid-season update. So don’t waste your time looking for them when Season 3 drops on April 3.
EMD Mine Tactical Item – The lone new tactical item is the EMD Mine, a proximity mine with the ability to stick to surfaces. When it’s triggered, it shoots tracker devices, revealing enemy locations and directions until they’re removed.
Enhanced Night Vision Goggles Field Upgrade – Lastly, the Enhanced Night Vision Goggles are the only new field upgrade coming in Season 3. That means they’ll take the slot of your supply box, trophy system, or whatever you’re using these days. Moreover, the goggles have a limited battery, but provide enhanced vision with ‘integrated target highlighting.’
Look for all of these new items along with some other new content when Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 3 start on April 3, 2024.
