I do, just not enough to drop $40
As of today on PlayStation 4, you won’t need to pony up for Infinite Warfare to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. It has gone standalone. More than half a year later, Activision finally did that thing some of us wanted it to do. The game costs $40 on PlayStation Network, which, yeah.
If you want everything, you’ll probably also want the Variety Map Pack, which is a separate $15 charge for the multiplayer maps Broadcast, Chinatown, Creek, and Killhouse. There’s also now Supply Drops to contend with. If you haven’t kept up with CoD, you can earn credits in multiplayer or buy points that fund Supply Drops containing things like emblems, weapon camos, and reticles. Welcome to the new age.
As for Xbox One and PC players, you’ll presumably get the standalone option in one month.
I want to mess with Modern Warfare — particularly the campaign, which I haven’t played in years — but not for $40. I might’ve parted with that much money for it last year, but not now. It’s too late.
