Mogawak Shrine is a fun example of a puzzle shrine in Tears of the Kingdom. It utilizes interesting mechanics to have players figure out a way to the end while being one of those shrines that appear difficult at first until you crack the code.

We’ll cover everything you need to know to complete Mogawak Shrine below, but let’s take a look at how to find it first.

How to find Mogawak Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom

Mogawak Shrine is located in the Lanayru Great Spring area of the map, very close to the entrance of Zora’s domain. It’s fairly easy to get to the shrine if you’ve unlocked Upland Zorana Skyview Tower. Use the tower to send Link into the sky and fly east with your glider. If you position your glider correctly, you can actually land almost directly in front of the shrine. If you’re on foot, you can also get to the shrine by crossing the Great Zora Bridge that leads into Zora’s Domain.

Check out the screenshot above for the precise location.

How to complete Mogawak Shrine

When you first enter Mogawak Shrine, you’re going to need to head into the alcove on the right. This is where you power up what is essentially a Hylian electricity generator. There’s water flowing down from a spout in the ceiling, but it’s not connecting with anything. On the floor is a small plate. You need to connect the plate to the spinning wheel that already has a plate attached. Use Ultrahand to pick up, move, and attach the plate from the floor.

Make sure to connect the plate to the wheel on the exact opposite side of the one already there. When done, the wheel should look like it has two fins, one on each side. Check the screenshot above for the exact placement.

Once connected, move the wheel so that the water hits one of the fins and let go. If you’ve attached them correctly, the water will hit each side, causing the wheel to spin continuously.

Before leaving, make sure to collect the chest that rests at the bottom of the water on the left side of the wheel. It contains a magic scepter, which is a very useful weapon.

With the electricity fired up, you need to get it to the rest of the shrine. Unfortunately, there’s no way to connect it directly. So you need to use a battery! In the center of the shrine, there’s a blue and stone-colored container sitting on the floor. Pick it up and take it to the platform that the electricity is going to from your generator. Place it on the platform to charge it. When it’s fully charged, the container will glow yellow.

Take your new battery to the opposite side of the room but don’t place it on the platform there just yet. The battery will drain, so you need to use it only when ready. Otherwise, you need to take it back to the generator to recharge it.

In the water are two balls on chains, one connected to each side of the water. Use Ultrahand to move each ball as close together as possible while they are still in the water. The chains aren’t long enough for the balls to actually connect, but the water will send the electricity the rest of the way if you get them close enough. See the screenshot above for the exact placement.

Once the balls are in place, put the battery on the platform to power it all up. The door on the opposite side of the water will open, and you can cross to get the chest. You are on a time limit of how long it takes the battery to discharge. Just make sure you cross the water well away from the electricity so as not to give Link a nasty shock. Open the chest, and you’ll receive a nice opal for your efforts.

Finally, take the battery to be recharged for the last section. Once it’s charged, take it up to the elevator and place the battery on the platform. This will activate the elevator right away to take you to the exit. Make sure to place the battery on the platform after you’re stood on the elevator!

Once you’re at the top, Mogawak Shrine is complete!
