Monkey Island statue is made of greatness

Recommended Videos

This weekend I come to you on my knees begging for forgiveness. Why do I do this? Because I have never played a Monkey Island game. Not even part of one. Not even one mouse click to make a character walk across the screen. I’m sorry. Strike me down now, wallowing in my own self pity. My only defense is that I have played every other LucasArts point-and-click masterpiece, but that is no defense at all. I can’t even fully appreciate the statue of LeChuck and Threepwood throwing down that you see above, and it so deserves to be fully appreciated.

This may be a blessing in disguise for you, however. Since I have never played the games it means that I do not want to spend $89.99 for this fine piece of art. That means there is one less person vying for the 1,000 copies of the statue that were made. Head over to StarWarsShop.com and you can pre-order the 10″ tall statue while supplies last. It will then show up at your door (one assumes) after its release on Sept. 10. As for me, fear not. I am taking Brad “the muscles from Brussels” Nicholson’s advice and downloading The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition
