A new Monster Hunter Rise stream is coming in hot, as Capcom has announced an August 9 date: all of it will deal with Title Update 1.

So it’s actually going to be at 7AM PT on August 9, right here on the Monster Hunter Twitch channel. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and game director Yoshitake Suzuki will be stopping by for the express purpose of diving into Title Update 1: a free update for Sunbreak coming this month that will add Lucent Nargacuga, Seething Bazelgeuse, and several other features. Hopefully beyond the big stuff, they’ll talk about little quality of life features — like this Marionette Spider change.

In recent Monster Hunter news, Capcom reminds folks that there’s a franchise sale going on right now on Steam, which includes a near-50% discount on Rise. It’s not a bad time to get into Monster Hunter at the moment, given the proliferation of Rise on a popular console and PC, and the steady release of lots of free updates. By the time you work your way through all of the history of Rise, original free updates included, it should last you a long while before you’re allowed to rank up to coast to the expansion.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Title Update 1 recap (August):

  • Seething Bazelgeuse
  • Lucent Nargacuga (and “several other monsters”)
  • New locale: Forlorn area
  • Rare species monsters
  • Special species monsters
