FFXIV Moogle Treasure Trove Patch 6.4: Tips, duty list, and rewards

The best I can do is six Irregular Tomestones of Tenfold and some Dark Matter

The FFXIV Tomestone event 2023 NPC hangs out in all three city states. You'll find this little Moogle in each to exchange Tenfold tokens.

The FFXIV Moogle Treasure Trove event is back, and this time, it’s celebrating a decade of adventuring as the MMO’s 2.0 A Realm Reborn relaunch turns ten years old. Finish up your lingering quests in 2023’s The Rising festivities and get ready to grind. FFXIV’s got plenty of party favors to collect.

If any celebration offerings catch your eye, grab them while you can. The Moogle Treasure Trove 2023 festivities end when Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.5 arrives, which should be sometime in early to mid-October.

FFXIV Moogle Tomestone event explained

For those unfamiliar, the Moogle Treasure Trove event rolls around at the end of some FFXIV patches. The MMO incentivizes players to revisit and farm select duties they’ve completed by rewarding event tokens (Irregular Tomestones of Tenfold Pageantry). You can trade those tokens with adorable Moogle vendors in all three starting cities.

Itinerant Moogle Locations:

  • Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (X:9.4, Y:11.7)
  • New Gridania (X:12.4, Y:12.0)
  • Ul’dah, Steps of Nald (X:9.5, Y:9.1)

Rewards from the Moogle event include limited-time offerings, like the Fat Cat Parasol, which you can only unlock during the Treasure Trove celebration, along with items usually only available from more difficult duties. The FFXIV 10th anniversary quest delivers some of the game’s most generous rewards yet, including the Stormblood Kamuy mounts, rare orchestrion rolls, and popular emotes like Pointed Misgivings and Insufficient Petticoats.

Quickest FFXIV Moogle Tomestone grinds

Unless you’re leveling a job, it’s not worth jumping into MSQ roulette for those larger handfuls of Moogle tomestones. Some of these duties are faster than others, and FFXIV’s dedicated community is well aware of that. The list of event duties (and rewards) is available below, but let’s establish your quickest routes to the Patch 6.4 rewards first.

You may want to look over an FFXIV Rival Wings guide first, but the Hidden Gorge map pictured here is an easy grind for the Moogle event

Endwalker Raid: Pandaemonium (Normal Difficulty)

Asphodelos: The First Circle (P1n) is old news now, so if you’re all caught up on current content, this is likely the fastest path. You’ll get three Moogle tomestones per clear, but try not to just spam this using Duty Finder. Of course, to count for the anniversary event, you’ll need to complete the normal, synced raid, but players in Party Finder change the party makeup to include seven DPS and one tank.

In my brief Party Finder experience, the group beat P1n in a little over three minutes. Players elsewhere report far better results, getting the boss down in two minutes and 45 seconds. Just make sure you’ve got current gear, like Item Level 630 or higher.

Farming P1n may be faster, but even with current Savage-ready gear, I prefer farming the Hidden Gorge since it’s far more dynamic. Even if I assume the encounter will last longer, it shakes out to be almost the same if I score a win. Plus, it gets me closer to those achievements.

FFXIV PvP, Hidden Gorge (Rival Wings)

The MMO’s MOBA-like PvP encounter is likely your easiest path to easy Moogle tomestones. Matches last a maximum of 15 minutes, but mine rarely run the clock. Typically, they’ll last somewhere closer to 10, but you or the enemy team could always steamroll the opposing side for something faster. Wins net you 10 Irregular Tomestones of Pageantry, while a loss rewards six.

If you’re new to the challenge, we’ve got an FFXIV Rivals Wings guide up for a quick crash course on the mode. If you farm the Hidden Gorge for anniversary currency, you’ll also work toward two other PvP achievement mounts (Magitek Avenger and Magitek Avenger A1). It’s a win-win.

Moogle Treasure Trove event Duty list

Not every duty yields the same amount of tomestone tokens. Give the list a good once-over; if there are other rewards you need from these instances, now is a great time to farm them as other players queue up for tokens. If you’re only interested in grinding for the Irregular Tomestones, keep scrolling to the section below outlining the fastest farms.

  • The Praetorium (14)
  • Castrum Meridianum (8)
  • The Porta Decumana (6)
  • Containment Bay Z1T9 (Unreal) (8)

PvP: (6 or 10) Irregular Tomestones of Pageantry

  • Hidden Gorge (Rival Wings)
  • Onsal Hakair (Frontlines)
  • The Fields of Glory (Frontlines)
  • Seal Rock (Frontlines)

Endwalker Raids: Irregular Tomestones of Pageantry

  • Anabaseios: (4)

  • Abyssos: (3)
    • The Eighth Circle, Seventh Circle, Sixth Circle, Fifth Circle
  • Asphodelos: (3)
    • The Fourth Circle, Third Circle, Second Circle, First Circle

Remember, you have to complete these duties while synced; unsynced runs do not reward any anniversary tokens. The Containment Bay Z1T9 (Zurvan Extreme) Unreal trial also doesn’t indicate itself in-game as an event instance, but it still works. Square Enix confirmed you should still receive event currency, even without the little anniversary icon. I did my weekly Unreal allowances, too, and received the eight irregular tomestones.

Irregular Tomestones of Tenfold Rewards

Some of the FFXIV Moogle event 2023 rewards are easy to score outside of the celebration, so save those for last. Below, we’ve broken them down into sections by item type, along with a note on the content they’re typically found in.

If you’re looking for recommendations on prioritizing, I’d go with collecting everything under limited rewards first. Older Stormblood extremes are easy to complete unsynced now, so I suggest farming for the mounts next and saving the Kamuy whistles for last. The Warrior of Light Triple Triad card can be a pain to get, thanks to RNG, so pick that up next. Finally, maybe grab that Samurai Barding, too. It’s from Eureka, and usually costs 1 million Gil or more.
