I know! But before you get your hopes up, let’s go through this one step at a time. Game designer Ed Annunziata, the creator of Ecco the Dolphin, tweeted this last week: “Ecco fans, I need you to follow & tweethank @scottfoe, he convinced SEGA to meet with me now chances of a new Ecco the Dolphin x100!”
So, yeah — far from a confirmation of anything, clearly, but he’s started to get the ball rolling. In a more recent tweet, he stated that composer Spencer Nilsen was on board as well. Even if the project got approved, there’s then concern about whether or not it’ll even be hold up all these years later conceptually. (I want to believe.)
Barring any substantial updates, for now, I’m just going to pretend this whole thing never happened so I can be pleasantly surprised should anything move forward. If nothing comes up of it, I did learn that Annunziata worked on Chakan: The Forever Man, which pretty much made my day.
