My power is maximum; new DragonBall Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 screenshots

The list of things you ought to be glad you don’t know about me is long enough that I think it’s okay to remove one item. One bizarre, deformed, dark secret.

Go ahead and insert your own dramatic pause here. Impregnate it with the weight of your emotion, haunt it with the ghosts of your baited breath. Got a haunted, pregnant pause? Good. Moving on…

…I like Dragonball Z games.

Still with me? Hit the jump.

Yeah, it’s true. And I think it’s because DBZ is so bizarre. We’ve got muscled men with big hair who would rather fight all day with each other than speak to their wives. People die repeatedly and come back, and die again, and then sometimes a guy gets only one day to come back to Earth and instead of spending it nailing the brains out of his wife, he spends it fighting. There’s a lot of fighting. And challenges. And then the guys put on earrings or hide behind bushes together to do a dance and then they go inside a pink thing and pull out the fat kid.  True story.

But I like all of the DBZ fighting games, and while they’ve made so many that even I’ve lost count, they’re making another one. Here are new screenshots of Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, which drops on PlayStation 2 and Wii in November of this year.

Looks like they’ve added Babidi as a playable character (I think) for the first time, and some new techniques, which mostly, as you might expect, contain the words “blast” “burst” and/or the letter Z, as in Dragonball-Z, Z-Items, Z-Fusion, Z-Fighters and Z mode. Z!!!

I'm a game writer, which means I spend all day in a bacchanal of fabulous nerdiness. My fave games are Ys I & II, Phantasy Star 2 (!!) old Sonic (not the emo RPG crap), anything on Turbo Grafx, Zelda, Metal Gear, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Fatal Frame (pretty much all survival-horror), most Final Fantasy, Shadow Hearts, RPGs that don't suck (are there any?) and for my gentle side, I like me some Katamari and Harvest Moon. Hearts for Destructoid!
