My Time at Sandrock update adds Cross-Platform Settings in preparation for console multiplayer and more

It’s almost time to invite your friends

My Time at Sandrock

My Time at Sandrock, the life-sim adventure game from Pathea, received an update on June 13 including some vital preparations for upcoming cross-platform multiplayer, which will arrive later in the Summer. But that’s not all that was included in the patch.

While the patch mostly dealt with bug-fixes and balancing issues, there are some new and exciting things coming to Sandrock. The patch went live at 2:50 a.m. EST / 11:50 p.m. PST, so you’ll have fresh updates waiting for you if you’re just diving in to play.

Although there is no set date for the arrival of the cross-platform multiplayer feature as of yet, this update is setting the process in motion, meaning that players on all platforms will soon be able to link up and adventure together.

New additions

Included within the update are a host of new features and challenges, including:

  • Some new scene exploration missions, which reward special weapons “Solarflare” and “Hand of the Light”
  • New weapons added to the Civil Corps store and Armory
  • New monster called “Bellwing Siren”
  • Cross-Platform Settings

Optimisation and bug fixes

While the list of fixes isn’t overly long, with the main focus of this update being on that all-important prep for cross-platform, some important fixes have been implemented:

  • Optimized how NPCs react to gifts
  • Optimised game memory usage, CPU time consumption and improved rendering in order to improve performance and visuals
  • Scarab Wings can now be acquired
  • Tourist NPC will no longer get stuck at Shonash Bridge
  • Flag will no longer disappear during “The Flying Daggers” mission
  • Doors and stairs will no longer disappear when changing interior wallpaper or house style
  • Stairs can now be moved during home renovations
  • Mahjong mini-game will no longer get stuck due to AI calculation errors
  • NPCs will now follow players into the game center during dates
  • Players can now play Bubble Dragon during dates

This isn’t a full list of everything in the update, but I’ve included all of the important details that I can see. If you want to see everything, head over to the My Time at Sandrock Steam page.
