[Update: We’ve got a trailer! Check it out below.]
Namco Bandai formally announced Soulcalibur V today, and while we’ve yet to see the game in action, the publisher’s doing a fair amount of teasing.
Taking place 17 years after the events of Soulcalibur IV, the fighter focuses on the son of Sophitia Alexandra, Patroklos. In development by Project Soul for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, we’re being promised new characters, an expanded online mode, and the return of character creation.
Vague details, to be sure, but with three years since the soul has burned, we’ll take what we can get. We’re gearing up for E3, and you have to hope Namco Bandai is too — maybe we’ll see the game in action, or at least a fancy CG trailer, at the show in June.
