Square-Enix’s recent updates to their website prove that Chocobo games are indeed aimed at kids, which points out that I am clearly perfectly happy being a thirty year old kid. They are offering an arts and crafts contest to celebrate the upcoming release of Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon: The Labyrinth of Lost Time.
Per the contest page, you can participate in a coloring contest or make a freestyle creation (ahem, Virtualgirl, enter this contest) such as the Chocobo bento bowl pictured. I hope the latter option does not yield any ill porn. The coloring contest option offers multiple pictures for download, and if you think I haven’t already printed one for my own coloring pleasure later today, you’re dead wrong.
There are also two new commercials on the site, although one is merely a shortened version of the other. Last but not least, if you are lucky enough to live in Japan you can check out the launch event this Thursday, which takes place in Shinjuku’s East side Sakuraya hobby center. Square will be giving away a 2,000 piece limited edition Chocobo soundtrack to attendees of the event. I am now experiencing jealousy.
This is Colette Bennett, offical Chocobo correspodent, signing out and also admitting I’m not too proud to whip out my crayons for the sake of a choco.
