Crash goes mobile
Crash is back and he’s putting those red high-top tennies to good use. The next game in the Crash Bandicoot series is evidently a mobile runner.
Evidence of a Crash Bandicoot mobile game popped up on Twitter after it was apparently leaked through Facebook ads. It’s said to be developed by King, which is Activision’s mobile studio who’s most famous for making Candy Crush. Here’s the tweet outing the existence of the game:
CRASH BANDICOOT MOBILE GAME REVEALED
investigation by myself and @MotweraThis game can be signed up for NOW it seems.
The way the link was found was by searching the name on FB after previously being a fan of the FB page tied to the Brazilian ads.https://t.co/98Qq3jkJCZ pic.twitter.com/AE6bPek4rq

Kotaku Australia also found a description of the new Crash Bandicoot which includes: building a base of operations, an arsenal of weapons, growing crops to produce serums, and trip to a space station. None of this sounds like standard fare for a mobile runner. The full summary can be seen in the gallery below.
Whatever this is, Activision hasn’t formally announced it yet. Maybe it’s another stepping stone — like 2017’s N. Sane Trilogy — toward Crash‘s return to prominence. There hasn’t been a proper new 3D platforming-focused Crash Bandicoot since 2008’s Mind Over Mutant. That’s the optimistic line of thinking anyway. You already know the cynical line of thinking.
