You might remember last year’s World 1-2, the big game music collaboration featuring artists from both sides of the Pacific. If you aren’t familiar, you may want to take some time now to catch up. The production group responsible for that has renamed itself Brave Wave, and has a new album titled In Flux that is full of electronic goodness.

The track featured below, “Menacing Wonders,” is by Chipzel (Super Hexagon) featuring Manami Matsumae (Mega Man), and it sports the fast synth one would expect from such a collaboration. It is not quite as hard or raw as some of Chipzel’s previous pieces, but it still gets your head bobbing and blood pumping. When describing the collaboration, Matsumae said, “I created a 40-second portion of a song that I then sent to her, which she ended up taking and turning into an entire song.” Neat.

The album is not all fast dance music. Also included are an almost ghostly track from Lifeformed (Dustforce), a mellow vocal track from Jim Guthrie (Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP), and a somber piano track from Saori Kobayashi (Panzer Dragoon Saga), among others. The 12-track album can be purchased for ten bucks on Brave Wave’s store.
