New Final Fantasy XIV site shows us what New Game+ looks like

‘Patch 5.1 includes the main scenario quests for Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers’

Final Fantasy XIV‘s new patch, 5.1, is shaping up to be a banger. Titled “Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty,” it’ll bring us a new dungeon (The Grand Cosmos), New Game + (more like New Game !), Fellowships (new social groups), and the NieR-themed 24-person casual raid. As usual, it’ll also host countless quality of life upgrades.

While the lid has been really tight on what the NieR raid entails (go in completely blind if you can!), Square Enix is finally sharing what New Game + entails recently, and now we have a good look at the UI. As previously revealed it’ll allow players to relive the main scenario quests (MSQ) for Heavensward, Stormblood and Shadowbringers. For the uninitiated those are the expansions for A Realm Reborn, as the 2.0 campaign New Game + is coming at a later date.

The UI looks like a step above what’s typically found in other MMOs, with a full menu showcasing each “part” of the story (Shadowbringers will only offer up to “part two” for the time being naturally, because it’s ongoing). You just select which part you want, it’ll display a brief rundown of the narrative, and you can hit “commence” and be on your way.

This is a huge step forward for MMOs, and I hope a lot of other games follow suit.
