Milestone for artistic android brawler
Square Enix have proudly announced, on the anniversary month of its Western release, that NieR: Automata has topped 2.5 million shipments and digital sales since launching in 2017.
PlatinumGames’ stark-but-chaotic hack ‘n’ slash title launched on PS4 to widespread acclaim, before releasing on PC in a somewhat iffy port several weeks later. The game was praised for its stunning visuals, huge variety of endings, strong narrative and protagonist 2B, who has fast-becoming one of this generation’s most recognisable heroes.
It was also announced recently that the publishers are planning a series of fan-events worldwide to celebrate the game and its universe, although no details are available as to where and when these will take place.
NieR: Automata is available now on PS4 and PC.
