The Humble Nindie Bundle
Humble’s spent years packaging collections of video games together and letting players name their price. However, this week’s bundle has a twist that we aren’t used to seeing. It’s the first offering that includes console and handheld games, and Nintendo’s platforms are the ones that are spotlighted.
Humble has teamed up with Nintendo to collaborate on a Humble Nindie Bundle. Eight games from eight different developers are available across both Wii U and 3DS. The charity tied into the event is Code.org, which focuses on increasing involvement in computer science by making it available in more schools. As always, buyers will be able to allocate how to split their contributions between the developers and the charity.
The bundle’s base level games are Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition (DrinkBox Studios), Mighty Switch Force (WayForward Technologies), and Woah Dave! (Choice Provisions). Anyone who pays more than the average price for the bundle will also receive The Fall (Over the Moon Games), OlliOlli (Curve Studios), and Moon Chronicles (Renegade Kid). Finally, those who pay $10 or more will get Stealth Inc. 2 (Curve Digital), and SteamWorld Dig (Image & Form).
[Update: Note that the bundle is region locked. It’s only available to those in North, Central, and South America (excluding Brazil).]
The Humble Nindie Bundle is already on sale, and will be offered until June 9. PC and mobile users have had a long time to get used to Humble’s cheap wares for a good cause. It’s good to see the console and handheld crowd finally get in on that. Hopefully it’s a trend and not just a one-off.
