Nintendo to show Mario and Pikmin for Wii U at E3

Recommended Videos

This information originated from an interview translated to English from Spanish from Japanese, so it was a little too fuzzy to run with at first. Now that we have an official, English language comment from Nintendo regarding the situation, we can officially get psyched.

A new Pikmin game will (finally) be shown at E3 2012! As a result of the news, Chad Concelmo has fallen into some sort of a psychological-sugar coma. It’s like someone sprayed him with Joker-gas. He’s just lying on the floor, grinning his ass off, dreaming of HD Pikmin. I’ll be joining him down there as soon as I’m done with this post.

The other, slightly more ambiguous news is that there will be a new Wii U Mario title at the show as well. The game is reportedly based off of last E3’s New Super Mario Bros. Mii “experience”. There is even some talk that this announcement relates to Nintendo’s recent claim of the SuperMario4.com domain name. We’re probably going to have to wait for a while to see if that’s where Nintendo is going with this.

I loved New Super Mario Bros. Mii when I played last year. The TV-screen-to-controller-screen play was seamless, and the game itself was more New Super Mario Bros. Wii-style gameplay but now with an old woman. You ready to pre-order yet?
