Speaking with gaming site 9 Lives, Sucker Punch’s Bruce Oberg has said that the company has no current plans to release downloadable content for its PlayStation 3 exclusive, inFamous, which ships this week.
Oberg also mentions that the title, a single-player experience, will not be receiving a multiplayer patch or update.
The length of inFamous’ gameplay has been called into question (seriously, 25 is not short!), but I’m here to tell you that the lack of additional content or multiplayer will not hurt this game. Having been playing it casually for a few weeks, I can say there’s more than enough game there to keep you entertained. It doesn’t hurt that the game is a blast to play. I’ve been far too busy with a move and E3-planning to dig in deep (and I’m won’t be able to do our review), but I’ve made time each day to play because of an uncontrollable urge.
For PlayStation 3 owners on the fence, confused by the Prototype comparisons, do yourself a favor – pick up inFamous this week if you like things that are fun. That’s not a review, that’s a strong suggestion; it’s worth it, even if Sucker Punch won’t be providing multiplayer or additional post-release content.
