Luscious technical boost coming to intergalactic explorer
Hello Games has revealed that No Man’s Sky is the latest title to be afforded a major upgrade for next-gen platforms. No Man’s Sky: Next Generation will be offered as a free download to all current NMS players on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
The upgrade will boost the visual and technical prowess of No Man’s Sky across the board, allowing for 4K resolution at 60 FPS, longer draw distances, deeper texture density, improved grass physics and “warp-speed” loading times. Console players are expected to see the most significant changes in comparison to the current PS4 and Xbox One release, while PC players – particularly those playing on “Ultra” settings – will also see some improvements in overall visual fidelity.
Additionally, No Man’s Sky: Next Generation will support 32-player multiplayer, cross-play functions, and advanced audio and VR improvements, as well as support for the PS5’s Haptic Feedback capabilities. The upgrade will launch on the same day as the new consoles (so November 10 for Xbox Series X and November 12/19 for PS5), with the PC version expected to arrive within the same time-frame.
