Wondering where the steady flow of Rock Band Unplugged content has gone? Joystiq checked in with Harmonix to see what was what, and it seems the weekly updates are done for the time being.
The developer does say it’s is “very pleased with the performance of the Rock Band Unplugged game on PSP, the Rock Band PSP bundle and PSPgo start kit.” However, the team that works on the DLC has turned its focused to the upcoming Rock Band Network initiative, the steady stream of weekly content for the console titles, as well as “unannounced future projects.”
I enjoyed the game, and being “the Rock Band” guy on the Destructoid staff, you’d think I’d be saddened by the news. But the truth is, I haven’t purchased a single bit of DLC for Rock Band Unplugged since its release. Jim Sterling, on the other hand, seems to have gotten into the habit of downloading DLC for the limited demo that came with his PSP.
What do you guys think — is this a big loss, or would you prefer they continue to focus on console DLC and future projects?
