This just in: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will feature a time machine. According to a recent tweet from the official Battlefield 1943 account, fans of the bite-sized downloadable Battlefield will feel right at home with the next iteration of the Battlefield Bad Company franchise. Apparently, the upcoming title will make use of all the guns from 1943: the semi-auto rifle, the sniper rifle, and the SMG.
We’re not sure where the connection is here. The high-machismo tweet spoke only of the weapons. It omitted details like how World War II-class weapons would make it into a modern shooter or why exactly a person would even choose a flimsy SMG over, say, a 5.57 Carbine. We suppose we’ll hear more about this soon.
