Oh hey, it’s a new Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer

Still due in October

As promised, Rockstar’s scheduled Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer is right on time, and you can watch it below.

It’s heavy on story, but also features a decent amount of in-game footage, including at least one stagecoach battle and some fisticuffs action. You can really see the enhancements Rockstar has made this past year since they first showed it off, as the facial details are pretty on point.

So beyond the new footage shown in the trailer, here’s what we know — Red Dead Redemption 2 is arriving on October 26 of this year, and Rockstar notes that they don’t expect there to be any further delays. It’ll drop on PS4 and Xbox One. It’s a prequel to Red Dead Redemption, and you’ll play the role of Arthur Morgan of the Dutch van der Linde gang.

A new updated summary is as follows: “After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.”
