Activision has made an announcement this morning about some of the voice talent which will be appearing in Call of Duty: Black Ops. It’s now officially confirmed that Treyarch has brought Gary Oldman back to reprise the role he played in World at War, Victor Reznov. Ed Harris (The Abyss) will be providing his voice to a CIA operative named Jason Hudson.
In addition to the voice talent, another Hollywood name has been attached to the project. David S. Goyer (Dark City, The Dark Knight) has signed on as a consultant for the script and story development.
I will admit to liking many of the films Goyer has written (probably more of them than I should), but he seems like an odd choice to be consulting on a serious game set in WWII the Cold War. That is not to say his talents would be wasted on such an exercise or that he would have nothing to contribute. It just seems to me like the guy who wrote Demonic Toys and Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. isn’t the first guy I would think of to help out on a project like this. Or the fiftieth, for that matter.
