Omikron: The Nomad Soul released on GOG.com

David Bowie starred in the debut from David Cage

It seems totally fitting that this week should see the release of Omikron: The Nomad Soul on GOG.com, the same week as David Bowie releases his first album in a decade. The Thin White Duke wrote the soundtrack and even made an appearance in game, which was the first title from Quantic Dream.

Considering David Cage’s seeming obsession with photorealism, it’s interesting to look back at this game from 1999 and its striking visuals. Set in an oppressive futuristic city, players control a variety of characters as they attempt to unveil the cities mysteries.

I didn’t play Omikron back in 1999 and I’m glad to see GOG.com giving the game another lease of life. The game will cost you $9.99 and comes with the usual goodies although there’s no soundtrack by Bowie and his in-game band The Dreamers, which is a shame.
