One of Evolve’s monsters gets nerfed in new patch

The Wraith sees significant changes amidst larger rebalancing effort

Evolve is being rebalanced, Turtle Rock Studios revealed today. In response to player feedback, the developer is making a myriad of alternations to the asymmetrical shooter’s cast of characters, the most significant of which involve taking the serpentine Wraith monster down a peg.

The Wraith’s new movement speed is “less bursty,” according to Turtle Rock. Hunters should have an easier time keeping track of the Wraith now that the Warp ability is 25 percent slower.

Turtle Rock says the Supernova attack is now “less lethal while still allowing it to be just as powerful.” In case that sounds paradoxical, this translates to the move’s duration being halved.

The Decoy ability’s cooldown is now two-seconds longer, and the Wraith, if shot when cloaked, will become visible for half-a-second.

Meanwhile, Warp Blast is being overhauled, seeing changes like a 40 percent reduction in speed and 10 percent damage boost, to make it “a damage dealer instead of a traversal mechanic.”

The patch launches today on PC and will go live on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next week. You can learn more about all the various fixes and tweaks being made to the game via the link below.

What do you think? Was the Wraith overpowered? Do you welcome these changes?
