I didn’t even know there was a non-anime Pokemon show!
After it was announced last month, we’ve all been really excited to see what new features will be coming in the upcoming Pokemon Sun and Moon. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are fantastic, so where does the series go from there?
It looks like we’ll be finding out some of that this Sunday, April 3, when series director Junichi Masuda, battle director Shigeki Morimoto and ORAS director Shigeru Ohmori make appearances on the Japanese Pokemon-themed TV show ‘Gathering at the Pokemon House’.
According to Serebii.net, they will be on the show to discuss and show off the first video footage of “the new games”. This almost definitely is referring to Sun and Moon, but that hasn’t been explicitly said just yet. It’d be a bummer if we get Pokemon Trozei! 3 or something instead…
I’m personally most excited about Shigeru Ohmori’s role in Sun and Moon’s development. ORAS were the first games he was the director on, and I’d argue they’re the best Pokemon games yet. They made so many quality-of-life improvements over X and Y, while also featuring some really cool side stories not seen in the original Ruby and Sapphire. If his appearance on the TV show is a sign he’s also directing Sun and Moon, then I’m convinced we’ll be seeing some great stuff from the new generation.
