Oh, so this is what Pac-Man: Battle Royale is all about. It’s a shame this reveal video for the arcade game is nothing more than some logos and a single in-game screenshot that’s obscured by large text. Still, we have enough to go on to get a basic idea of how the game will play.
From what I can gather, Pac-Man: Battle Royale will essentially be multiplayer Pac-Man against a Pac-Man: Championship Edition backdrop, which is a smart move. As far as sequels/reboots/whatever go for arcade classics, Pac-Man: CE remains by and large one of the better ones.
My fond memories of Pac-Man Vs. — yes, I still have one of those silly GameCube-to-GBA cables around here somewhere — has me wondering if it’ll be merely player-controlled Pac-Men or if there will be playable ghosts too; it’s probably the former.
Answers await us at the 2010 Amusement Expo, which is, thankfully, on the very near horizon. If any of you are planning to attend, make sure to tell Namco Bandai to put this thing on Xbox LIVE Arcade.
