Developer Pocketpair has advised Palworld players on Xbox not to load multiplayer save data because of a new issue introduced to the game alongside the v0.2.0.6 update.
Last week, Palworld received its first major content update since its January launch. Aside from adding new items to the survival game, it also introduced a super challenging raid boss in Bellanoir. It was originally only for the PC version, but now Xbox fans can enjoy the new additions.
A couple of hours after the Xbox update went live, though, Pocketpal revealed on X (formerly Twitter) it had become aware of an issue with multiplayer save data not loading properly, specifically multiplayer data from an older version of Palworld. This won’t bother anyone who plays Palworld solo, but those who prefer to run the game with friends will undoubtedly be frustrated at not being able to load their saves.
A message in the Palworld Discord channel from community manager Bucky says the team has at least identified the cause of the problem, and is working on a patch that should fix it. However, there’s currently no indication of when the patch will come out. Plus, any new multiplayer saves you make now won’t work once this new patch releases, so there’s basically no point running multiplayer games for the time being.
It’s unfortunate that such a long awaited update has brought trouble with it. When it arrived on PC, it introduced a bug that made it impossible to place eggs in incubators, preventing players from hatching new Pals. Pocketpair is still working on a permanent fix for that, but there is at least an easy workaround that almost renders the bug a non-issue. The same sadly can’t be said for this Xbox multiplayer bug.
