Necropolis League Mechanic

In Path of Exile: Necroplois, wrathful spirits have begun to hunt the monsters of Wraeclast, unleashing their ancient fury. A new NPC, the Undertaker, provides you with the Lantern of Arimor, a powerful family heirloom able to illuminate the spirits haunting the monsters throughout Wraeclast. Using the Lantern you are able to move around the spirits onto monsters of your choosing, changing the difficulty and rewards of content when fighting in an area.

As you kill monsters and purge the spirits, you’ll gain corpses which you can then take back to the Undertaker and bury in his graveyard. This is essentially a new crafting mechanic, allows you to mix and combine corpses in the graveyard then having the Undertaker bless said corpses resulting in a crafted item based on what corpses you buried.

It seems like the most interesting crafting mechanic yet, and based on what we see in the trailer I feel like you’ll be able to target craft better than ever in Path of Exile: Necropolis.

New End Game

Path of Exile: Necropolis is also bringing an all-new endgame, adding a brand new tier of maps, Tier 17. These new maps feature a brand-new set of bosses, more powerful monsters, and all-new rewards. If you can complete these Tier 17 maps you’ll gain access to new pinnacle bosses coming with the expansion as well.

A lot of end-game systems have also been reworked. Scarabs have been changed dramatically allowing you to enhance endgame amps more than has ever been possible. You’ll also now be able to have three separate Atlas Passive trees and can switch between them when using a map, which adds a lot more variability for end-game builds.

Path of Exile: Necropolis releases next week on March 29, 2024. For the first time ever, the league will launch on the same day on PC, Mac, and consoles.
