Today, the “grace period” for early access ends in Star Wars: The Old Republic, and players need to log in to swtor.com and submit billing information in order to continue enjoying themselves. That would be perfectly acceptable, save for one little problem — the website can’t handle that many people.
Remember the website queues I spoke about when early access began? Well, it’s worse now. Some gamers have reportedly been stuck on a holding page for hours, and because their accounts are tied to that website, they have no other way of extending their playtime and thus cannot access the game itself.
Amusingly, the servers themselves are said to be quite easy to get into now, because so many people have been locked out of the game. If you’re one of the lucky ones who have an “active” subscription, you can at least play the game without getting thrown into a server queue.
We’ve definitely moved beyond the period where we can say that things are going relatively smoothly for The Old Republic. By all accounts, things have gotten really damn mess now. Between confusion over subscriptions, broken product codes, and huge queues, we’re standing in quite the pile of Bantha shit.
