I’m still waiting on that Dreamcast version, yo
With Pier Solar HD, what’s old is new and what’s new is old again. Unfortunately, we’ve got to wait quite a bit longer before we can actually give it a try now. The Sega Genesis-styled RPG care of Watermelon has been delayed to June.
Considering how gorgeous preliminary screens have been, Pier Solar HD looks like an alluring throwback to a forgotten age, and while it’s easy to slap retro-fabulous graphics over a mediocre frame (I’m looking at you, Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled) Pier Solar looks like an honest-to-goodness adventure that should tickle every nostalgic bone in your body. It’s also releasing for nearly every console you can think of, even Dreamcast.
Watermelon hopes to release the game before E3, which begins on June 10. Here’s to hoping!
