New environments and playable characters
Pikmin 3 might not have done much for Wii U sales, but Nintendo doesn’t seem to care. They love Pikmin, even if you don’t. That’s why they keep rolling out the Pikmin 3 content. This morning during their 3DS-focused Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced yet another load of Pikmin 3 DLC. Unlike prior DLC packs, this upcoming set will feature eight new levels for $4.99, with a few all new environments and playable characters. That’s right Pik-maniacs, Olimar and Louie are back in charge.
Olimar will set out on those missions alone at first, but if he finds and rescues Louie, he’ll become playable as well. They even have text-based dialog in the midst of missions. Adorable. Will their missions explain how Olimar wound up in a weird relationship with an obsessive golden blob? Will the President of Hocotate Freight join his employees in the crisis? I can’t wait to find out! I also can’t wait for Christmas Trees and cake.
Nintendo is giving out two of these eight new stages for free, so if the $5 is too steep for your blood, you wont be left completely out in the cold. The DLC is set for release on Dec. 2nd.
