Sometimes you just find gaming news. I was taking a break from the morning news writing just now. I did what I usually do: look at photography sites for news and pictures. You should know that I’m a huge photo nerd. Today I was browsing Flickr for shots done with the GF1 camera with manual focus lenses and I noticed a very nice bug photo. I clicked it for details and found out a few things about…PixelJunk lifelike. Crazy, I know.
You may remember that at GDC earlier this year a new PS3 Visualizer by the PixelJunk folks was teased. A slide during a panel read:
Q-Games & Baiyon’s next collaboration — “Pixeljunk lifelike” — Visualizer for PlayStation 3 — coming soon
And that was about it.
Back to today’s picture find. The above image comes from the “2nd day of filming location hunt,” and comes from Q-games’ Dylan Cuthbert’s Flickr account. From the comments on this fine image I found out that a promotional video is being filmed to be shown at Tokyo Game Show. We’ll finally get to see what PixelJunk lifelike is next month.
I think it has something to do with nature. This find led me to Cuthbert’s Twitter feed, where I found a link to more shots from their “location hunt” for the lifelike promo. All of this was shot in the woods Kyoto, Japan. There’s some very nice nature shots in here. I shot recently in Kyoto with the same camera!
I bet whatever they’re working on is going to be lovely.
Oh, and Dylan, if you’re reading, what lens are you using in these shots? And nice bokeh on that shot!
