With the one-year anniversary for Guild Wars 2 rapidly approaching, ArenaNet has plans to host a free trial weekend soon. That’ll kick off on Friday, August 23 at 12:01am Pacific and carry through Sunday, August 25 at 11:59pm Pacific.
If my fondness of the game despite an inability to enjoy essentially all other MMORPGs is any indication, this will be worth taking a look at even if you aren’t usually into these types of online experiences. Guild Wars 2 has done quite well for itself, with ArenaNet claiming it to be the fastest-selling Western MMO thanks to three million sales in its first nine months.
Granted, there’s no monthly subscription, and that’s definitely a factor — but I’m not about to hold that against the game.
