Or don’t. I’m not your supervisor
Steam’s doing one of those things where you can play a game for free all weekend long. Don’t those feel good? Like you’re the beneficiary of some screw-up in the PC game control room. Some schmuck pushed the wrong button and now you’re reaping the rewards. What an idiot, that guy.
The reality is less titillating, but equally full of temporarily free stuff. Activision has a promotion where you can play Call of Duty: Black Ops III‘s multiplayer for free this weekend until Sunday at 1pm Pacific. It’s the version of the game that only has multiplayer, as Activision’s in the process of testing out that concept’s viability.
Of course, the idea is that you’ll be so enamored with Black Ops III that you’ll go ahead and plunk down some cash to keep playing. Maybe you don’t want all that double XP you earned to go to waste. Maybe if enough people buy it, control room guy won’t get fired for that unfortunate mistake. He might even get promoted! Wow, a real rags-to-riches underdog success story that guy could possibly be.
