Home updates to version 2.0 soon
[Update: Pokemon Home Legends support (and BDSP) is just around the corner, as the official Pokemon account has informed users of a Home maintenance period later today at 5:00PM PT. It’s expected that sometime in the early morning of May 18, US time, the 2.0 update will be completed.]
[Update #2: It’s complete! You can now update to Home 2.0.]
Pokemon Home Legends support is on the way, along with the addition of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (BDSP), a new blog has announced.
The Pokemon Company is calling this “Home 2.0,” and in short, all roads will lead to Home now; including the prior supported Pokemon Sword/Shield, Let’s Go Eevee/Pikachu, Pokemon Go, and the Pokemon Bank, on top of the aforementioned new additions.
Here’s a quick rundown of how boxes will be filed:
“Until now, the only Pokedex in Pokemon Home was the National Pokedex. But starting from version 2.0.0, the Pokedex from each game will be added. Pokemon in your Boxes in Pokemon Home will be registered in their respective game’s Pokedex after version 2.0.0 of Pokemon Home is installed. Pokemon that aren’t in a Box when the ver. 2.0.0 update is installed, such as those that have been traded away, will not be registered.”
Interestingly, when Pokemon are transferred to or from Pokemon Legends, they will be found in “strange balls” due to the lore differences and time jump considerations. Those are pretty much the only provisos you need to be aware of.
And here’s the list of promo items you’ll get:
- By depositing a BDSP Pokemon into Home Switch: Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup with Hidden Abilities as Mystery Gifts in Home mobile
- By depositing a Pokemon from Legends into Home Switch: Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott with maximum effort levels as Mystery Gifts in Home mobile
A final date has not been announced, but many expect it to arrive this month, which would be inline with similar announcement timelines.
