Ready to go gaga for this MOBA?
It’s been roughly a year since The Pokémon Company announced Pokémon Unite to a mass collective groan. Western fans weren’t having any of it, but that didn’t stop The Pokémon Company, Tencent, and TiMi Studios from plugging away on it. After teasing some news about the title yesterday, we got the big reveal early this morning: a Pokémon Unite release date. The free-to-play MOBA launches on Nintendo Switch in July and makes the jump over to mobile this September.
Twenty-four Pokémon from the series are available at launch and looking at the list, I’ll probably go with Cramorant until a ‘mon I like more is added to the game. If you decide to give this a shot, you won’t have to choose between playing on Switch or playing on your phone. On the Pokémon Unite website, it’s confirmed the game will support cross-play and cross-progression if you use your Pokémon Trainer account or your Nintendo account.
